Hello team,

Customer has some questions on the SDK for TDA4VM as below:

is there a way to build the SDK from Yocto? i.e. what's the difference between the EdgeAI SDK and the PROCESSOR-SDK-LINUX-J721E?
Can the image from the PROCESSOR-SDK-LINUX-J721E be flashed on the TDA4VM-SK and are the recipes for the EdgeAI SDK published?

Hi,

Edge AI SDK is a series of repositories installed on top of the PSDK Linux + RTOS. However, we do some changes to the underlying PSDK to accommodate for the board changes between the TDA4VM-EVM and TDA4VM-SK, and we create an image using the modified PSDK that can be flashed onto a micro SD card for an easier out-of-box experience.

The steps to recreate the underlying PSDK-Linux and PSDK-RTOS can be found here: https://software-dl.ti.com/jacinto7/esd/processor-sdk-linux-sk-tda4vm/08_01_00_02/exports/docs/development_flow.html.

As a warning, we do not test/support any of the demos in the underlying PSDK on the TDA4VM-SK, and TI only test/support Edge AI SDK demos on the SK board.

Follow on question, Is the MACHINE definition in yocto still j7-evm for the TDA4VM-SK board too?

Hello,

For the underlying PSDK Linux, there is no separate build option for TDA4VM-SK board. MACHINE definition in yocto will still be j7-evm.
