AM3358: S/PDIF output with AM3358/BeagleBone

Part Number: AM3358

Hi,

I want to output an S/PDIF signal with my BeagleBone using the McASP interface of the AM3358. Unfortunately I do not find a starting point.

So one of my first questions: which of the many McASP-pins/-signals can be used to send a S/PDIF signal?

Thanks!

  • Hello,

What OS are you running on the AM335x ARM core?

You can find more information about S/PDIF with McASP in the AM335x Technical Reference Manual.

    Regards,

    Nick

  • I already checked the AM3358 manual, but to be honest, I could not find that information. It describes a lot about S/PIDF and a lot about the different McASP output pins (and there are loads of different ones), but S/PDIF works with exactly one pin. And I neither could find out which of the many McASP pins can be used to emit an S/PDIF signal nor how McASP registers have to be configured in order to do that.
