i want to know that in this processor CMOS camera are used or some other and how many camera can i use in this at a time.

  • Ravi,

It is very much dependent on the interface format from your camera.

There are 2 types of port which can be used.

    1) ISS, which can accept up to 16 bit raw and/or YCbCr 8/16 bit or ITU656/1120. This input can be processed through the VICP which can do things like Bayer pattern interpolation, bad pixel correction etc...

    2) HDVPSS which has 2 ports and can accept up to 24 bit parallel in RGB or YUV formats in various formats (656/1120, discrete syncs etc...) These ports can be further split and multiplexed in order to capture image data from up to 16 ITU656 streams.

  • picking up on this discussion:

Just to make sure I understand:

Using the HDVPSS  I would be able to attach any sensor as long as the dataformat is video with discrete syncs and as long as the datarates are below 160Msamples/sec?

Or is there a limitation in the video line lenght? i.e. 1920 pixels per line....

    Thanks

    Best regards

  • Alf,

Yers, there are some size limits but I can't recall at the moment what they are, and I am out of the country.

I will try to get someone else to respond whilst I am out.

On the 814x there is also the option of using the camera port but I am not 100% sure what the software support status is currently.
