DM36X MPEG4 compressed 3M (2048X1536)

Hi all,

I read the user guide of DM36X MPEG4 Simple Profile Encoder but confused on these descriptions

"inputWidth: Though supported value is upto 1920, codec does not give error until 2048. This is to

support encoding of (up to) 1080p even if video is captured at higher resolution (height upto

2048)". so, Is it workable on 3M (2048X1536) compression?

any comments will be appreciated!!!

  • Hi Charles,

The MPEG4 Encoder will encode upto 1920 only. This statement is included because in some use cases the capture buffer is of larger dimensions. To enable encoding of that without having to resort to the resizing, we have changed the conditions so that the input Height and input Width can be set upto 2048 without codec error. However, in such a case the dimensions for the actual encode will have to be set (upto 1920) though the 'subWindowHeight' and 'subWindowWidth' parameters.

    Regards,
