DM64xx MAC address

Hello,

Does the DM64xx devices come with an assigned MAC address or does the customer have to buy/use his own MAC addresses?

In another thread it is mentioned that the MAC addresses are stored in the external eeprom (http://e2e.ti.com/support/dsp/davinci_digital_media_processors/f/99/p/28297/98648.aspx#98648), so I undestand that the DM64xx devices don't have a fused MAC address. Is that correct?

    Hi,

    It depends the type of device you are referring to. If the deviced did not have an integrated PHY, and you require and an external phy; normally the phys have the MAC addresses stored in them, then you will need to buy/use you own MAC address range, and store it somewhere.
