Unused pins on 6455 for EMIFA and DDR2

I have a customer that wants to know what is best to do with the unused pins for EMIFA and DDR2 on C6455. Neither of these peripehrals are being used.

Thanks,
Jason

  • They can all be left as no-connect.

  • The C6455 has internal pulls on both the DDR and the EMIFA interfaces allowing them to be left unconnected if they are not used.  Note that the internal pulling resistors are rated to hold an unconnected pin in a steady state.  If any trace is connected to the pad for the pin an external resistor should be used to hold it in a steady state.  In addition if DDR is not used the VREFSSTL, RSV11, and RSV12 pins can be shorted to ground to save power as detailed in section 7.3.4 of the data manual.  This section should be reviewed in detail of boundary scan is used.
