FCC CE certified SOM Modules

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: WL1837, WL1837MOD

Hi team,

We are looking for FCC CE-certified SOM Modules that have certified WiFi/BT and DP (preferably) / HDMI support with minimum dimension.

Can you please send us the options with price details?

Regards,

Ahamed Faize

  • Hello Ahamed,

I'm not aware of a SOM module that contains all of these features. I believe it would be straightforward for you to find a module that uses a TI Processor (like AM64x) however the missing piece would be the WiFi. Take this phytec SOM as an example that uses the AM57x's HDMI 1.4: https://www.phytec.com/product/phycore-am57x/.  In cases like this, we recommend you use WL18xx.

Wilink8 (example part WL1837) is a WiFi/BT transceiver that has upstreamed drivers with linux and included in the TI Linux processor SDK. A solution like this would require you to design a custom board that would communicate to the chosen SOM. You could use the WL1837MOD, which is a module that has gone through the FCC CE certification, and you can find those reports here: https://www.ti.com/tool/WL18XX-CERTIFICATION   You will still need to certify the end-product and follow our hardware integration guide for the module, section 6 describes the antenna portion of which you will need to meet certification: https://www.ti.com/lit/swru437
