Can we build custom HDVPSS firmware, link it with proxy server source in the sysbios psp for HDVPSS, and have it provide syslink interfaces for v4L driver, fbdev driver in linux kernel etc ?

What is that HDVPSS (TI816x_hdvpss.xem3) closed source firmware binary provides, that isn't accessible when we write custom ducati firmware?

Does TI provide any guide lines as to when one should use TI firmware (TI816x_hdvpss.xem3) for ducati and when one should go for customizing it?

My general understanding is that the M3-Ducati will be closed source for the near term. Open Max APIs will serve the HDVPSS. However, I'm sure TI will be interested in understanding any unique use case that is not currently supported.

One concern is video capture drivers, can we customize it for a different vide encoder other than TVP* ? Same would apply for the display drivers, and video decoders.
