How to load remote core firmware

I'll be referencing the AM64x Linux Processor SDK docs throughout this response.

There are a couple of ways to load firmware into a remote core in your Linux system:

1) Linux RemoteProc driver loads during Linux boot time (https://software-dl.ti.com/processor-sdk-linux/esd/AM64X/08_02_00_14/exports/docs/linux/Foundational_Components_IPC64x.html#getting-started-with-ipc-linux-examples ). The remoteproc driver would need to be built into the kernel for this.

2) Linux RemoteProc driver loads during Linux runtime (https://software-dl.ti.com/processor-sdk-linux/esd/AM64X/08_02_00_14/exports/docs/linux/Foundational_Components_IPC64x.html#booting-remote-cores-from-linux-console-user-space ). Since graceful shutdown of remote cores is not supported in the existing SDK releases, this is currently only supported if the remote core was NOT loaded during Linux boot time (i.e., RemoteProc driver would be a separate kernel module)

3) R5F loads the remote cores during SBL boot before Linux boot begins (https://software-dl.ti.com/mcu-plus-sdk/esd/AM64X/08_02_00_31/exports/docs/api_guide_am64x/EXAMPLES_DRIVERS_SBL_OSPI_LINUX.html ). I have not tested SBL loads at this point.

Many thank you for your support and your links.

Currently I read MCU/Processor SDK document carefully.

I share you a little bit information about my system with 512MiB LPDDR4 and 128 OSPI NOR FLASH that works fine.

- OSPI boot mode: Good

- Adjust memory layout: IPC work well.

- Boot flow: using SBL_OSPI_LINUX for booting: isolated M4F core with IPC before the Linux core, it work well also.

- Existing issues: allocate CMA memory fail -> another thread I asked you

On this thread, I would like to ask you about how to yocto builds specially for the tiny rootfs. Because I mean that the tiny rootfs hardly support many bitbake files for install other parts eg ipc.
