Hi,
I try to understand the concept behind arago distribution and how to populate a SDK which based on a custom image. I use PROCESSOR-SDK-LINUX-J721E 08.02
During my research, I stumbled about this:
The rootfs of the image is quite different from the rootfs of the SDK.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Setup yocto according PSDKL 08_02.
2. Create SDK and default image according the documentation: MACHINE=j7-evm bitbake arago-core-psdkla-bundle
3. Install the SDK and extract the rootfs from the default image (tisdk-default-image-j7-evm.tar.xz)
4. Search for example for "rpmsg* in both rootfs. The result will differ
SDK rootfs:
thomas@dt-tda4:~/deleteMe/rootfstest/sdk/installdir/sysroots/aarch64-linux$ find -name *rpmsg* ./usr/include/linux/rpmsg_rpc.h ./usr/include/linux/rpmsg_socket.h ./usr/include/linux/rpmsg.h thomas@dt-tda4:~/deleteMe/rootfstest/sdk/installdir/sysroots/aarch64-linux$
Default Image rootfs:
thomas@dt-tda4:~/deleteMe/rootfstest/image/extractdir$ find -name *rpmsg* ./opt/ltp/runtest/ddt/ipc_rpmsg_char ./opt/ltp/testcases/bin/ddt/test_rpmsg_pru ./opt/ltp/testcases/bin/ddt/test_rpmsg_rpc ./etc/modprobe.d/rpmsg_client_sample.conf ./etc/modules-load.d/rpmsg_kdrv_switch.conf ./usr/include/linux/rpmsg_rpc.h ./usr/include/linux/rpmsg_socket.h ./usr/include/linux/rpmsg.h ./usr/include/ti_rpmsg_char.h ./usr/bin/rpmsg_char_simple ./usr/lib/libti_rpmsg_char.so ./usr/lib/libti_rpmsg_char.so.0.4.1 ./usr/lib/libti_rpmsg_char.so.0 ./lib/modules/5.10.100-g9476773729/kernel/samples/rpmsg ./lib/modules/5.10.100-g9476773729/kernel/samples/rpmsg/rpmsg_client_sample.ko ./lib/modules/5.10.100-g9476773729/kernel/drivers/rpmsg ./lib/modules/5.10.100-g9476773729/kernel/drivers/rpmsg/rpmsg_char.ko ./lib/modules/5.10.100-g9476773729/kernel/drivers/rpmsg/virtio_rpmsg_bus.ko ./lib/modules/5.10.100-g9476773729/kernel/drivers/rpmsg/rpmsg_pru.ko ./lib/modules/5.10.100-g9476773729/kernel/drivers/rpmsg-kdrv ./lib/modules/5.10.100-g9476773729/kernel/drivers/rpmsg-kdrv/rpmsg_kdrv_switch.ko
My assumption was, that the rootfs of the SDK contains for example all the headers to the installed libs, which I can give the cross-toolchain to build my linux userspace-application.
On the rootfs of SDK however, all the "ti_rpmsg_char" libs and headers are missing. So for me the SDK produces not a usable rootfs to develop an application which uses ti_rpmsg_char.
Do I have a misunderstanding of the SDK concept? I think I need to understand the arago concept first before trying to apply the same on my own image definition.
Best regards,
Thomas
