TDA4VM: Capture: peripherals are directly connected to CSI RX interface without serializer and de serializer

Part Number: TDA4VM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR2243

Hi,experts

Recently, I am studying how to use CSI RX interface to receive AWR2243 data.

As the relevant hardware is not ready yet, I am now doing some pre research work and hope to get some suggestions from you. Here is my description:

I noticed that there are several examples of cameras in the SDK, but the connection method used in these examples is FPD link.

The way I use is that AWR2243  is directly connected with CSI RX interface, that is, there is no ub960 and ub953.

My question is:

1. Does Ti provide examples of CSI RX using direct connection? If so, can you provide them?

2. If the answer to question 1 is no, I think the following example can be modified to meet my requirement:

ti-processor-sdk-rtos-j721e-evm-08_01_00_11/pdk_jacinto_08_01_00_33/packages/ti/drv/csirx/examples/csirx_capture_test/src/csirx_capture_test_main.c

In this example, do I need to pay attention to anything other than removing the code of ub960 and I2C?

Appendix: My SDK version is ti-processor-sdk-rtos-j721e-evm-08_01_00_11

  • Hi Tao,

No, there is no example without SERDES.

Yes, you could refer to this example and remove SERDES from this example. But please note that this is PDK based example, so will required CCS flow to run it.

  • Hi,Brijesh

Thank you very much for your reply.

I will try according to your suggestions.

And I have another question to ask you about this topic.

Tda4 has two CSI RX interfaces. If I only use MCU2_0 to capture data without SERDES,

I can only capture the data of one interface first and then the data of another interface, right?

If so, I think if I want to capture data from two interfaces at the same time without SERDES, should I use MCU2_0 and MCU2_1 to  collect data respectively?

    Best Regards,

    Tao

  • Tao,

I can only capture the data of one interface first and then the data of another interface, right?

Not really. as long as data is coming together on both the ports, then they also will be captured simultaneously by the DMA.  You could check the multi-camera example in the SDK, this example also supports capture from 8 camera, which uses both the CSIRX ports..
