help with licence

Hi,

I have C5505 eZDSP USB Stick Development Tool and install CCS4 version coming with it.

I did obtain a licence for it online (register using the activation code), installed it and all works fine.

Now I want to use CCS4 for MSP430 development. When I tried to flash a sample code into eZ430-F2013 I have an error:

'You are not licensed to use the currently configured connection-type'

So I did registration again, but the new file doesn't work either, giving another error.

What to do to have licenses for both kits eZDSP and eZ430?

How can I display/read what is the licence type that I have (or rather theCCS4 allows me to use)?

This is a good question as it is a bit confusing. We have some information in our FAQs: http://www.tiexpressdsp.com/index.php/FAQ_-_CCSv4#Q:_Can_I_use_my_eZ430_with_the_.22free_limited_license.22.3F

Unfortunately you can't use the "Free Limited License" that is available from the Platinum image with the eZ430. The free license model for MSP430 is the Code Size limited MCU Core version.

You have a couple of options, admittedly not ideal. You could use one of the free eval licenses. There is a link to the 90 day license from the FAQ page above. This would give you access to both the 5505 and the eZ430. You could additionally install the MCU Core version and have one install for 5505 and another for MSP430.

Thanks for that clarification.

For now I will install a second version of CCS4 with limited MSP430 support and I hope both versions can work.
