Migration to CCS4.2/SYS/BIOS 6/NDK 2.2

I have a C6455 board that I have been developing using CCS 3.3, NDK 2.0, and DSP/BIOS 5.41.

Yesterday I downloaded the evaluation of CCS 4.2, along with NDK 2.2 and SYS/BIOS 6.

Rather than "convert" my existing application, I was planning to start over with the "hello world" example in the NSP, and then add in my functionality as a way of learning these new platforms.  I have discovered that this is going to be a steeper learning curve than I thought.   It appears that the NSP does not contain C6455 examples, so I will need to modify the 6474 example in the NSP for the C6455.   I wouldn't think this would be a big deal, but I haven't succeeded yet.

Can anyone give me an overview of what is required to get the "hello world" example in the latest NSP to run on a C6455 target?  Or point me in the right direction?

Thanks,

Karl Regier

  • Karl,

Have you had any luck with this?  I'm not really going to be a huge help on this one, but wanted to point you to this thread:

which is along the same lines as what you are trying to do, except they were only trying to modify the MCSDK example to use a different board, not a different device.  You would have to make these modifications as well as additional ones I'm sure, since the EMAC driver is different.  But maybe the package referenced in the above thread will help you out.
