My customer is evaluating OMAPL138 using OMAPL138EVM and DVSDK.
McBSP and EMAC are used simultaneously and EMAC stops sending data to host PC.
EMAC has no problem when McBSP is not used. "McBSP is not used" means that
McBSP is used as salve and CLKX/FSX are not supplied from external.
Please advice how to investigate the cause and fix problem.
Regards.
Which specific peripherals are you using? The McBSP0 pins and MII pins are multiplexed together, so from a device level they cannot be used simultaneously.
Jeff
Followings are additional information from customer.
Customer changed the priority that EMAC is highest "0" and EDMA3_x_TCx(using for McBSP) is "1".
But ethernet has still problem as follows.
1.McBSP is used as slave and when FSX1,FSR1 signals are applied to McBSP Ethernet stopped and LED blink of
EVM ethernet connector stopped(data to PC is stopped).
2.When they stopped the FSX1,FSR1 signals to McBSP, Ethernet LED start to blink and data is sent to PC.
Please let me advice how to investigate the problem.
Regards.
Tony, McBSP1 and the EMAC pins are independent, so I dont see why activity on the FSX1 and FSR1 pins would affect the Ethernet activity.
To rule out any board-related issue, can you leave both McBSP0 and McBSP1 powered off in the PSC and make sure that the ethernet works if there is activity on the FSX/FSR pins?
Jeff
Tony,
In case you are not aware, there was a known issue in NDK2.0 about EMAC and EDMA(and thereby any other driver using EDMA) not working together on OMAP-L137.
Please check if you are facing a similar issue here as well-
If this has been already taken care, then you have to verify as per Jeff's suggestion.
Thanks,
Prathap.
Dear Jeff and Prathap,
Customer solved the problem.
He remake the signal cable to McBSP, and McBSP and Ethernet work at the same time.
He guess that some noise from McBSP cable affects to Ethernet.
Thanks and regards.
