TI-SCI client driver

Hi,

I'm working on the TI-SDK-08_01_00_07 on a J721e based board. We were planning to use ti-sci firmware in the Linux kernel coming as part of this SDK. However, on investigation, it has been observed that, the ti_sci.c -- which is loaded as an in-built platform driver in Kernel is slightly out-dated when compared to its counter-part in u-boot or ti-spl.bin. It lacks support for some of the "Processor Control Messages" like: TISCI_MSG_PROC_AUTH_BOOT_IMIAGE, TISCI_MSG_WAIT_PROC_BOOT_STATUS. Is there a plan to update the ti-sci.c driver in the kernel updated? If it is already done, can the same be shared?

Also, another follow-up question is that, if the sysfw functionality has to be invoked by an application running on Linux, is there a utility or library developed by TI to use the same.

Typically used in boot loader stage for authenticating next boot image.

Yes. We want to use this feature in the kernel where we want to authenticate/validate the image before copying it to the flash during upgrade.

Just to add to this, we want to use the sysfw infrastructure to validate/authenticate the images from a user-space application.

Hi Srivatsan,

This is NOT supported in the current SDK. This will be taken up in the future SDKs. Please elaborate your requirement
so that I can check with internal teams and schedule this requirement for a future release.

Hi Keerthy,

As already mentioned, we want to authenticate/validate the kernel images/firmware images (ti_spl.bin, u-boot.bin) from a user-application running on Linux on A72 core using the sysfw infrastructure while doing an upgrade. This is the requirement.

Let us know if we can leverage anything if if is already available.

Srivatsan,

No we do not have anything available readily on the kernel side. I am checking with internally on this as a new requirement.
So for now this is not supported. I do not have an estimate on which release this will be supported.
