KeyStone-II Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) Switch related issue

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCI6638K2K
The TI SOC has a Kaystone-II, 5 port Gigabit Ethernet Switch.

Switch-Port0, Switch-Port1, Switch-Port2, Switch-Port3 and Switch-Port4.

<> Packet switching across Switch-Port0 (Host Port) to Switch-Port1(SGMII0 Port) works
<> Packet switching across Switch-Port0 (Host Port) to Switch-Port2(SGMII1 Port) works
<> Packet switching across Switch-Port0 (Host Port) to Switch-Port3(SGMII2 Port) does not work even though SGMII-2 link is up.
<> Packet switching across Switch-Port0 (Host Port) to Switch-Port4(SGMII3 Port) does not work even though SGMII-3 link is up.
<> Packet forwarding across Switch-Ports-1,2,3 and 4 also not happening.

    Typo...please read as "Keystone-II"

  • Hello Dhiraj,

The TCI6638K2K has very limited design support from Texas Instruments and this question is beyond the scope of the support available.

Please reference this FAQ for resources and contacts for third parties that could be leveraged: https://e2e.ti.com/support/processors/f/791/t/809582

  • We have been able to make progress on the debug.

    Findings :

1]            The 5-port KeyStone-II Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) Switch is functional. The switch is forwarding the packets across all 5 ports as expected.

2]            The packets arriving at PORT-0 (HOST port) from PORT-1 and PORT-2 are getting consumed by the NETCP driver.

3]            The packets arriving at PORT-0 (HOST port) from PORT-3 or PORT-4 are getting dropped by the NETCP driver.

    Our Understanding :

The NETCP driver running seems to be corresponding to Keystone-1 (3-port Ethernet Switch).

If we can change this to a Keystone-II driver, where the support for PORTS-3 and 4 will be available...we expect the issue to get resolved. Please review and help us upgrade the driver to support Keystone-II (5-port Ethernet Switch).

  • Hello Dhiraj,

I am sorry to say this but we cannot provide any review or upgrade of the driver. You will need to reach out to one of our third party partners I provided via the FAQ link to get support for this request.

    Best Regards,
