Codec performance improvement on C6678 from C64x+

How much MIPS improvement can we expect (say G.729 or AMR-NB) on 66x core over 64x+ core?

Can 4xMultiply feature of 66x be used to improve codec performance?

    Vilas,

    The improvement from C64x+ to C66x will come from a mix of improvements to the cache efficiency and from the instruction set. For the latter, the improvement will vary depending on your current implementation and level of optimization.  We would expect an overall 10 - 20% improvement for these codecs when migrating from C64x+ to C66x (when running from internal (S)L2 memory ).
