Maximum usable number of GP Timers and PWMs in AM1808

Hi,

My customer would like to clarify about AM1808 the below;

1) There are 3*64-bit GP timer and 1*64-bit GP/WD timer in AM1808.

     With these timer resources, is it possible to configure 8*32-bit GP timers ?

     Or is there any restrictions on the above configuration ?

 2) There are also 2*eHRPWM and 3*eCAP in AM1808. 

     Can we use all PWMs (as 5* PWM) without any restrictions like a PINMUX ?

    Hi Kimizuka,

    1)  As long as a watchdog timer is not required, it is possible to configure 8*32-bit GP timers. 

    2) Using all PWMs is possible. However, note there is a conflict between the eHRPWM trip zone pins and the eCAP APWM pins.  Please refer to the Pin Multiplexing Utility tool to review the pinmuxing options on AM1808 and to confirm that the eHRPWM and eCAPs do not conflict with any other system requirements-- http://focus.ti.com/dsp/docs/litabsmultiplefilelist.tsp?sectionId=3&tabId=409&literatureNumber=spraba2a&docCategoryId=1&familyId=1877.
