problem in the LINEOUT in C6713

Hello everybody,

I want to generate a sinusoidal signal with the TMS320C6713, I wrote a program for this but the problem is when I use the  LINEOUT to see the signal; it shows with noise and it looks like modulated but when I use the HEADPHONE for the output it comes clear. I want know why? there is a problem in that output (LINEOUT)?

if there is a problem please suggest a solution, thank you

Are you referring to the C6713 DSK - or - do you have your own board developed?

  • HI Drew,

I'm using the board in our lab and I m trying simple programs to be familiar with the DSK then when I tried to generate the sinusoidal signal I remarked that problem with the LINEOUT.

I want to know if this output is different from the HEADPHONE or there is a problem in the board!!

I hope I explained my problem clearly, please I m waiting for a reply from anyone who knows a little bit in this problem. thank you

  • Asmaa,

The issue is that we don't know what your 'lab board' is. If it is a DSK board that is a TI product we can probably help you out, if it is a custom developed board, then we  won't have much insight into the design of it.

  • Yes Drew it's a TI product it's "TMS320C6713 DSK" I mentioned that in my question

  • The 6713 DSK features the AIC23 audio codec.  The headphone/lineout configuration is all part of the AIC23.  It sounds to me like you have something not setup properly for the lineout on the AIC23.  I recommend looking through the AIC23 data sheet and comparing with your code to see how you are configuring its registers.  I assume that something is not setup correctly.  If you have questions on the AIC23 then I recommend asking in the audio converters forum.
