AM3359: Generating project files using projectCreate script

Hi

CCS is unable to detect the required compiler here.

Can you check if the "GNU_7.3.`:Linaro"compiler is listed in  the CCS's "Window->Preferences->Code Composer Studio -> Build-> Compilers”? If not, can you add the path for this compiler and ensure that CCS has detected it?

I couldn't find the path for it. I started from scratch again now I am following what exactly described in the video as well as the master reference design. Now I am using the older version of SDK (ti-processor-sdk-linux-am335x-evm-04.00.00.04-Linux-x86) and I have changedthe variables in the projectcreat.sh. Now I am receiving an error like

"./projectCreate.sh: line 485: /home/ignitarium/ti/ccs1120/eclipse/eclipse: No such file or directory"

I don't know what to do. Could you please help me to get this done.

Also what is the difference between SDK and PDK I can only find SDK to download. It is asking for the PDK path in the Projectcreate script.

This error means that CCS installation path which you set in projectCreate.sh is not correct. Can you verify the path?

Can you ensure that CCS and SDK are installed at default installation directory, if possible? You can check https://software-dl.ti.com/processor-sdk-rtos/esd/docs/latest/rtos/index_overview.html#setting-up-ccs-for-evm-and-processor-sdk-rtos for more details.

PDK is one of the components in SDK. See following links for more details:

I will try this but I have one more question which SDK should I use the latest one or the older version? ALso can I use the latest vesion of PRU-ICSS slave binary ?

As mentioned in https://software-dl.ti.com/processor-industrial-sw/esd/docs/indsw/EtherCAT_Slave/01_00_10/PRU_ICSS_EtherCAT.html#component-version, we recommend to use SDK v6.3 with EtherCAT Slave v1.0.10.

Hi Dhaval,

Thank you for your insights, now I am able to successfully run projectcreate.sh script. But after successful operation it generated the project folder but to my surprise the project folder was empty for both demo and full application of the slave. Could you please tell me why this is happening.

Yes the build was successful. Build created a folder as per the document in the name of SOC. But the folder was empty.

The files are used directly from the folders inside package like "protocols\ethercat_slave\ecat_appl\EcatStack".

It would be nice if I can see it as a project so that I can go through the code dependencies as well. Is there is anything I need to do to get this done?
