Hi Experts,

Good day. Seeking your advise on this query:

I am using the dra 821 processor on the J721 EXCP01EVM board. When I transfer the data from the Linux host to this card via internet port. The connection is very slow I want to use this board in baremetal I want to use the A72 in baremetam with code composer. Which linker script do I need to use?

sorry for the delayed response. I am not sure about your use case - could you clarify:

1. When you mentioned "transfer the data from Linux to this card", what is your destination? and what application did you use?

2. what do you mean by use the A72 in baremetal? are you trying to build a baremetal application to transfer data from network to some storage attached to the DRA821?

Customer just responded.

(1) for the data transfer: I mean the eth0 connection is very slow, I don't known if it is linux driver problem or hardware problem ? If for example I scp large data from the host to the card via eth0, the transfer is not working.

(2) For the second problem I want to build a simple baremetal application on A72 processor. For that I need to use codecomposer ? Which linker script I need to use?

I am not sure that issue is related to higher layer protocols as your scp copy involves both the scp stack, and sd card driver. To isolate the issue, could you help to do a few experiments:

1. run iperf on eth0 to measure the network interface bandwidth without SD card copy.

and see what is the reported bandwidth.

2. use a ftp protocol to copy to the local file system on the sd card, instead of scp. see if you get the same throughput.

3. Do the same large file copy fwithin local file system. see if you get the same throughput.

On the baremetal application, you can see an example in the PDK, using "enet_example_utils_baremetal", built under

<PDK>\packages\ti\build

But there is no baremetal application does what you needed - copy from network to SD card, as you will need file system to do so. So it is not really useful for you.
