spi eeprom compatibility problem with c5505

Hi all,

I have one question to ask. I have c5505evm on which it has 256Kbit spi eeprom to hold user code. Can I use 1 Mbit(24 bit serial) spi eeprom with C55? Is it compatible with tms320C55 device? If not so, what should I do with code size larger than 32KB with C5505?

Because I have read "Using the TMS320VC5505/04 Bootloader" application report and it says "The device uses 2 bytes (16 bits) for internal addressing (up to 64kB)."

In addition to supporting 24 bit spi eeprom, I would like to learn whether 24bit spi flash will support secure boot image...

Hi;

The VC5505 does not support 24bit addressing SPI flash. But C5505/C5515 does support 24bit addressing SPI flash, but you will have to use our latest "programmer" tool to program the 24-bit addressed SPI flash.

Thanks.I ve downloaded EVM_BSL_revd. At there, I found programmer.out file ,then loaded it to evm using CCS. But I didnt see anything about 16-24bit flash option. Do you mean this programmer.out file by saying "programmer" tool? If not, where can I get this tool?

Secondly, I ask whether 24bit spi eeprom will support secure boot image? For creating secure boot image, what sould I follow?
