TDA4VM: ESM: ESM event from SOC to MCU

Part Number: TDA4VM

Hi,

I want to confirm that if I want to link the ESM event from SOC to MCU, shall I set the SOC_SAFETY_ERROR to low? Because from the below picture, it is connect from SOC_SAFETY_ERROR to ERR_I of MCU

Thank you!

Best Regards

Ding Zhihua

  • Hi Ding,

In referenced picture, SOC_SAFETY_ERRORn is driven by the ERR_O, of the main domain ESM block.   SOC_SAFETY_ERRORn, is show to be connected to ERR_I of the MCU_ESM in the MCU Domain, and also  being connected to an external pin.

For ESM Pin behavior TRM Section 12.11.2.4.2 ESM Error Event inputs, and TRM Section 12.11.2.4.3 ESM Error Pin Output can be referenced.

"The error pin output (ERR_O) is used to signal an external agent that it needs to (or may need to) intervene
because of an error. Each error event input can be programmed, via software, to influence the error pin output
(via the register). The error pin output is active low."

    Regards,
