CC5505 eZdsp USB Development Question

Hi Michael,

You can easily input an audio signal to this board, sample it, process it, and output the result.  We have some audio filtering open source software available that may be helpful for this.  It is available at the following link, you can also find links to other helpful information there:

Hi Voile,

The USB connector on the eZdsp stick is not for USB data acquisition.  It is for interfacing to the development environment on the PC/laptop and also for powering the eZdsp stick.  There are several ways to get data in and out of the eZdsp stick.  Here is the link to the eZdsp stick support page that has the Technical Reference document.  It provides further details:

I am a spanish student and I am working in a project using the TMS320VC5505 eZdsp USB stick. The first part of the project was about sampling audio using digital microphones and this device. This part is done.

Now, the second part consists on connect it to a PC or Laptop via USB (as an audio card). I was looking for some examples about the USB use and i found this conversation.

I would like to ask you about what you said in relation of the USB data adquisition. What i have to do is a driver for the data transmision between the PC and the DSP by USB. So, i'm trying to configure the USB conection in the DSP, with the objective of sending data to the host.

Could you confirm that I can not use the USB port for data transfer? It is very important.

Your understanding is correct, on the VC5505 eZdsp the USB port cannot be used for data transfer.

We have recently introduced the C5515 eZdsp, that has a separate USB port for data transfer.  It has a number of other new features also.  Its information is at:

On some documents it's been written that C5515 comes with OLED display (OSD's 96x16 blue one) but my 5515 eZdsp came without OLED (propably it's been left out to save costs). Is this display module available separately?

I am trying to get the document files of the C5515, specifically the USB guide, but i only find the VC5505/04 USB guide. I have seen that some of the peripherals's guides are the same for both DSPs, so I am not very sure if i could use the VC5505 USB Guide with the C5515. 

Could you tell me if it is the same, or should I only follow the General datasheet of the C5515 for the USB?

In case of exisiting that document, could you tell me the link, please?
