Text Overlay on ARGB Buffer

I would like to show some text message on Display.

We are displaying ARGB buffer on top of NV12 Video buffer.

Please suggest me already implemented ready to use solutions.

P.S. We are using TDA2P, TDA3 Device.

hi Naresh,

Yes, it is possible. Please check Draw2D_drawString API references in the vision sdk. This API is implemented in draw2D library, it can draw string using given font id on a given buffer and that buffer can then be forwarded to display for actual display..

vision_sdk/apps/src/rtos/draw2d/draw2d_font_bmp.c

You could find this API being used at many places in vision sdk.

We have NV12 buffer and ARGB Buffer.

Hi Naresh,

I would recommend going through this implementation and check formats supported in the existing code. If i remember correctly, NV12 is supported, but most likely ARGB is not. You would have to add ARGB format support in this API.

No unfortunately, there is no application note for these APIs. I would recommend you to refer to existing usage for these APIs to understand how they can be used.
