AM625: 16bit DDR4 performance

Hi experts

Based on the speed limit of DDR4, please help measure the speed of DDR4 (relevant benchmark operation, boot time/download speed of the overall system, how to evaluate the impact of DDR4 on the overall performance? )

My customer have some concern about 16bit DDR4 speed.

Hi,

We should have a AM62x version of the benchmarks app report similar to https://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/spracv1 out soon. I would start with the memory bandwidth and latency microbenchmarks from this AM64x chapter 3.1. Below are some key benchmarks you could run (-P 4 is for 4 threads as AM62x has 4 A53 cores).

lat_mem_rd 64 512

bw_mem -P 4 8M bcopy

stream -M 16M -P 4 -N 10

We will have further benchmarks in the app report.
