TDA4VM: Safety mechanism implementation about MMA component

Part Number: TDA4VM

Hi,

I have on idea about how to implement below safety mechanism from safety manual, I can't find any description from TRM. Could you please give some suggestion?

Thank you!

  • Hi,

    Any suggestion? Thanks!

  • Zhihua,

MMA1 - MMA7 are all hardware mechanisms so there is no software overhead required, the MMA module produces an externally-visible error if they occur.

MMAT1- MMAT8 are tests in place to prevent latent faults, as a system integrator you would implement these tests to ensure that the diagnostics are working.  For example to test that MMA7 (under/overflow), before you application starts or periodically you can force a buffer overflow/underflow scenario and ensure that an error is flagged.

  • Hi Yang,

Thanks for the feedback.  What's the "externally-visible error",  how we can detect the error happens? If no software overhead required, what's the system behaviour after this fault?

I think the main problem is that I don't have any reference document in hand, I can't find any description about MMA in the TRM except some simple words.

So if you know where to get the referce document, maybe I can first go through it and understand the MMA. Otherwise it is a little bit comprehand to discuss how to implement these safety mechanism one by one.

    Thank you!
