AM4376: Ethernet speed

Hi,

AM4376 is designed with multi-port L2 switch(5-port, up to 1Gbps) and PHY is connected to both of 100M and 1G.

1. Is speed of MII between AM4376 and L2 switch fixed? if correct, is it due to various speed device at each PHY port?

2. PHY is connected to the devices with only 100Mbps for all devices, can speed of RGMII be adjustable?

    Hello,

    1) The RGMII bus between your 5-port switch and the AM4376 device supports 10/100/1000 Mbit operation. You can restrict the bus speed to any of these values via SW.

    2) See #1. You can limit the RGMII bus to 100Mbit if you wish, but most switches have internal link aggregation and packet buffering. The downstream bus(es) and upstream bus do not need to be the same speed.
