TDA4VM: How to tuning multiple cameras on TDA4 Board?

Part Number: TDA4VM

Hello TI expert,

When I connect multiple cameras to the TDA4, how can I tuning their image quality separately? And what is the relationship between each camera and the TDA4 driver?

  • Hi Wang Zhili,

Are all the camera simultaneously running/capturing? Ideally. you could run single camera application on each camera and tune them separately. Once tuning is done, you could then run all cameras together..

  • Hi Brijesh,

Thanks for your reply. Yes,  all the camera are simultaneously running.

I also want to figure out that when I use three or four same cameras with different lens FOV (such as three AR0820 with FOV 30, 60, and 120), the sensor setting of these cameras is the same, but their image quality need to be tuned separately. In this case, do I need to create three AR0820 configurations in the /imaging/senser_drv/src/ folder of SDK for tuning? Then how do I need to run them all at the same time? And could you please explain to me the relationship between the apps and the driver of TDA4 in this muli-camera case?

    zhili

  • Hi Zhili,

Probably you could use the channel id parameter in the sensor driver to identify the AR0820 sensor and return different DCC profile for each sensor.. Please note since DCC profile is different, you would require to create separate instances of CSIRX and VISS nodes..
