TI Support,
We are attempting to wire a TUSB1106 USB transceiver into an AM3517 based circuit in place of the TUSB1210 transceiver. We need a full-speed port and not a high-speed port since our noisy environment is causing communication glitches. The TUSB1106 was chosen since it is available in a non-QFN package.
I feel that the AM3517 USB Host Subsystem should support this transceiver; however, there is somewhat of an inconsistency in the technical reference manual (sprugr0b, dated July 2010). In this document both Table 20-80 "Signaling Between High-Speed USB Host Subsystem and 6-Pin Unidirectional USB Transceiver (DAT/SE0 Signaling)" and Table 20-81 "Signaling Between High-Speed USB Host Subsystem and 6-Pin Unidirectional USB Transceiver (DP/DM Signaling)" are identical... and this does not make any sense. I feel that table 20-80 is correct but that 20-81 should have a different truth table for the DAT and SE0 pins. Is table 20-81 correct?
Unfortunately the TUSB1106 does not support the single ended DAT/SE0 signaling and instead requires the differential mode signaling (which I believe is the DP/DM signalling mode). Any insight you may have would be appreciated.
Thanks,
