AM1808: How to debug AM1808 with SEGGER J-LINK?

Part Number: AM1808
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SEGGER

Hello,

I am trying to debug AM1808 with SEGGER J-Link and CCS8. But I have probrem to set up the CCS project. Could you help me?

I opened ccxml file on CCS, and chose "SEGGER J-Link Emulator" as "connection", than I want to choose AM1808 as "Board or Device", but AM1808 didn't uppear there. (For reference, AM3xxx MPUs are uppearing.)

How can I debug AM1808 with SEGGER J-Link debugger?

  • Hello Nimu,

It appears that the J-link drivers for CCS does not have AM18x support. I'm not sure if this is intentional or if it is an oversight. I will see if I can get a confirmation from somewhere.

    Thanks

  • Hello, Ki

    Thank you for your reply.
I'm sorry to hear that J-LINK driver doesn't support AM1808.

If you get any information why the driver doesn't support AM1808, please let me know it. The information will be helpful for me.

  • Nimu,

I checked with engineering here and they said that the device support for J-Link in CCS is determined by Segger. They create the driver package for CCS and then provide it to us to bundle. That is the extent of our involvement. It is best to contact Segger support directly for more details. When I check their website, it says that AM1808 is supported by J-Link. But it does not say if the J-Link drivers for CCS does.

  • Hi, Ki

Thank you  for your information, and I understand the driver is provided by segger.
I will ask segger about this issue.

    Thanks,
    Nimu
