SK-TDA4VM: Unresponsive serial terminal when trying to login and connect to board via UART

Part Number: SK-TDA4VM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TDA4VM,

Hi

I am currently trying to connect to the TDA4VM via UART using the micro-usb cable that comes with the board. I have installed the CP2108 driver which creates the virtual com ports (VCP) I can connect to from my terminal emulator. Below are the steps I take when connecting to the board via UART:

  1. Connect board to pc using the micro-usb cable
  2. Open up serial terminal using Tera Term or puTTy
  3. Open up up device manager and configure port setting as shown in the image
  4. Configure Tera Term or puTTy accordingly as shown this image (I also have local echo on).
  5. Supply power to board.

However I am unable to view the boot logs or login prompt. The terminal outputs this and is unresponsive when I press enter. How should I go about resolving this issue?

Kind Regards
