PROCESSOR-SDK-AM64X: How to configure ticks in Linux?

I am developing an application on Linux on the TI AM64x board and facing problems with timer configuration. Please let me know how we can configure ticks in Linux and what are the APIs related to a timer that can be used for reading the timer, setting a timer etc.

Hello Himansu,

Please note that the timeframe in that prior thread is speculative. You can help me by describing what your design will use timers for, and I will add that information to our requirement.

One of the reasons this feature was put so far back in the schedule is that we don't have much documentation on general purpose timer use cases. Context around why a timer would be used in a Linux design could help our developers prioritize features when they begin development.

Hello Himansu,

I might have misunderstood your request. Are you just looking for grabbing time based on the Linux system timer instead of a dedicated hardware counter? If so, please take a look at the kernel APIs around add_timer() / mod_timer() / del_timer().
