AM5726: AM5726

Part Number: AM5726

I am trying to set up ibis sims in hyperlynx for ddr3l.

AM7726 to 4GB of MT41K512M16HA-125:A DRAM.

Can you point me to the correct Selector/Models?

  • TI does not have a good way to make the sub-model selections easy for the AM5726.  The AM5726.ibs has 753 sub models that are named as "Model_1, Model_2, Model_3..., Model_753".  How does someone know what is what?  You literally have to in and read EACH of the model to figure out what each is before deciding which to use.  You literally have to create your own table.  Apparently whoever created this file did not have to do any simulation... or, maybe I'm missing something?  Memory vendor like Micron name sub-component very intuitively as something like "DQ_IN_ODT40_1866" so the name is literally self-explanatory.  In general, for DDR3 designs, you'd want to pick the trace impedances according to what the driver output impedance is and also the receiver input impedance.  Thus, if you use a 40-Ohm output driver, your receiver should be set to ODT 40-Ohm, and the laid out trace would be 40-Ohm.  Other driver/receiver ODT settings are there to "tune" the design in case the designer want to overdrive or under drive signals.  I guess you'll just have to live with what TI has.
