Does this announcement include the TI DSP Keystone 1 family?  I am currently using C6000 family (C6678) Keystone 1 with TI-RTOS (SYSBIOS).  I would appreciate some clarification.  This announcement must be for ARM family devices only?

Thanks for your help,

Bill

  • Hi Bill,

Does this announcement include the TI DSP Keystone 1 family?

No, In the keystone 1 family (including C6678, and C6657), we are still providing support. In Keystone 2 family, only for K2G, we stopped support on TI-RTOS and Bare-metal OS. Other EVMS such as "K2H and K2E" we are still providing upport.

This announcement must be for ARM family devices only?

No, AM335x and AM437x are "ARM" core processors, and OMAP-L14X, C674x, and K2G are "DSP + ARM" core processors. So, We have stopped for both ARM and DSP core.

    Thanks & Regards,

  • Hi Rajarajan,

Thank you for the clarifications.  I am glad to hear TI RTOS is still being supported for C6678.  I am curious if there are any plans that recommend users of C6678 migrate to another OS?  For instance, Are there or will there be options to move to embedded Linux?

    Thanks for your help,

    Bill

  • BIll,

Question : For instance, Are there or will there be options to move to embedded Linux?

As far as I know, the answer is "No". No plans in near future. As C6678 is the DSP-only-cores, TI-RTOS will be the option.
