AM6442: Buildroot for AM6442

I am looking to migrate a Linux buildroot project from an AM335x to an AM6442-based system. Can you provide or recommend someone who has the relevant buildroot configuration files (device tree and other drivers and/or make files) for the AM6442?

As I don't have a timeline yet for a TI-provided Buildroot I can only offer assistance to perhaps move your project to the current Yocto-based SDK.

Hi John,

whatever we do will almost certainly be done the open source / upstream way, meaning we contribute to the open source projects and then use those in the context of our SoCs. Like we already do with the Linux Kernel, U-Boot, ATF, and other projects. So in that sense you could follow https://buildroot.org/ related Git repositories or news feeds / mailing lists, I'd expect "TI activity" to show up there once the effort starts. I have a sense that this is probably a 2023 effort for Sitara MPU.

Andreas, thank you for your response.

We were able to get our AM64B evm up and running with buildroot several months ago and the performance has been excellent. I've asked my team if there is anything of use we could offer back to the buildroot organization but from the sounds of it you are there already.

thanks for the note, glad to hear that you were able to get going! There's a few changes/improvement we want to make as we pick this up again, but it's fantastic to see that you were able to turn the starting point given earlier into something working.
