TDA4VM: How to Enable ATCM cache when boot with SD card

Hello TI Teams:

I am working onSDK8_2 and i boot with sd card. i want to know how to enable atcm cache at my app(tispl.bin)? Should i enable atcm in the spl ? Which files should i modify?

And i build tispl.bin by make u-boot command and it will generate at /PSDKLA/board-support/u-boot_build/a72/tispl.bin.

Are you checking for R5 SPL or A72 SPL? R5 SPL is part of tiboot3.bin and that runs on the MCU R5F. I believe you are asking for R5 SPL. Can you please confirm that?

Hi June,

The Linux R5 SPL preserves the default Power-On-Reset values for ATCM configuration for the MCU R5F. The MCU R5F comes up with ATCM disabled, and the R5 SPL loads and just branches to the DM firmware's entry point. Reconfiguring the MCU R5F to enable the ATCM is not supported in the Linux SPL code/Linux SDK.

The MAIN R5Fs all are enabled with both ATCM and BTCM at U-Boot prompt (configured through dts).

But atcm is enabled when boot it with SBL, is it right?

Hi June,

SBL has optional additional logic that performs a reset cycle of the MCU R5, so it can enable ATCM in some configurations.

All options in SBL do not support this by default. This feature is not supported on Linux R5 SPL.
