ulpiphy_clk as output on OMAP4

Hello,

on OMAP3 the usbb1_ulpiphy_clk is output, meaning that the OMAP3 is feeding the clock to the USB transceiver. On OMAP4 (at least on Pandaboard), it seems the opposite, that usbb1_ulpiphy_clk is an input, and getting the clock from the USB transceiver (which is receiving a 19.2MHz ref clock from OMAP4). Is it possible to put the OMAP4  usbb1_ulpiphy_clk in output mode, meaning that the OMAP4 is driving the clock as an output on usbb1_ulpiphy_clk?

Many thanks in advance for any answer,

Grégoire

  • The ULPI clocking mode required by OMAP3 is an optional clocking mode listed in the ULPI specification.  Only a couple of ULPI PHYs are currently being sold that support this optional mode of operation.  The limited availability of ULPI PHYs that support this optional clocking mode has been very restrictive for our customers.

Therefore, OMAP4 devices were changed to support the more commonly used clocking mode.

    Regards,

    Paul
