AM6412: Security function

Guru 10245 points

Part Number: AM6412

Hi Support Team,

What function does the Non-Secure / Secure of Security in the FIELD PARAMETER(y) section
of the data sheet Rev. D: 10.1.2 Device Naming Convention refer to?

Does it refer to the availability of the following blocks in the datasheet block diagram?

Please let me know if this "Secure" refers to the implementation or non-implementation of the "Crypto Accelerators".

Best regards,
Kanae

  • Hello Kanae,
Crypto engine feature as listed below from AM62x Datasheet Page1/Page2 are available on both GP and HS devices.
Rest of security features listed on Page1/Page2 are available only on HS device.

    Supports cryptographic cores
    • AES – 128/192/256 Bits key sizes
    • SHA2 – 224/256/384/512
    • DRBG with true random number generator
    • PKA (Public Key Accelerator) to Assist in RSA/ECC processing

    Best,

  • Hi Hong,

    Thank you for your reply.
I appreciate your answer about AM62x, but what I would like to check is AM6412.
As with AM62x, are the following features available on GP devices for AM64x as well?

    - Cryptographic acceleration supported
    - Session-aware cryptographic engine with ability
Session-aware cryptographic engine with ability to auto-switch key-material based
     on incoming data stream
    - Supports cryptographic cores
    - AES - 128/192/256 Bits key sizes
    - 3DES - 56/112/168 Bits key sizes
    - MD5, SHA1
    - SHA2 - 224/256/384/512
    - DRBG with true random number generator
    - PKA (Public Key Accelerator) to Assist in RSA/ECC processing
    - DMA support

Please provide an answer to my question about AM64x.

    Best regards,

  • Hi Hong,

    Thank you for your support.

I will share this with my customer.
My customer system needs "Crypto engine feature",
so, I can confirm that my customer has no problem selecting a GP device of AM64x.

    Best regards,

    Kanae
