TDA4VM: Question about examples and tests in SDL

Hi experts,

There are two folders example and test in sdk/sdl for each safety function module, both of them can run on board.

What's the difference and which is recommended by Ti for practical safety diagnosis?

Hi Shukai,

Each module provides a Safety Example to show how the module can/should be used.

Each module as includes test apps which are meant for verifying the functionality of the module.

Hi KB,

Thank you for your reply. So if we want to monitor the potential failure of each functional safety module during startup, we should modify it on test apps, right?

Not clear on question being asked, in an attempt to answer, please reference each module in the SDL. See for example the POK link below

4.7. POK: Power OK — Software Diagnostics Library (SDL) - J721E User Guide

The POK module provide a Safety Example to show how to use POK for injecting an error and checking the error response, and also ESM application callback usage. Details regarding the POK Safety Example can be found here.
Test apps that are meant for verifying the functionality of the module are also provided.
