SK-AM62: debugging application from linux host PC

Hi Nick,

thank for your support.

While i dig into the videos and documentation you provided, a simple straight question.

at linux academy, here, there is an hello world example. Is actually a method to debug that application, from:

- host PC with Ubuntu and CCStudio

- XDS110 (or other working) emulator

- target sk-am62 board running linux arago and that helloworld example in userspace.

Any hint is kindly appreciated.

That userspace example is written and compiled from the Linux terminal, not CCS. There was no CCS debugging performed when we wrote that example.

In general, I am not aware how much training TI provides for debugging Linux userspace; most of the resources I am aware of other than the ones in my previous response seem focused on debugging the Linux kernel, like here: https://training.ti.com/debugging-embedded-linux-systems-training-series

Hello Nick,

among the material you provided, i found the linux video tutorial particularly interesting.

I learned how to debug linux kernel with emulator, and, even if i don't need it now, it will be surely useful for the future.

The video explains also how do debug a linux userspace application with CCS and gdb. This is not what i needed, because using emulator for debugging grants easy access to all internal register of the chip, but, however it s a very good starting point for debugging applications, so i can continue to work pretty smoothly. I still wait your answer, but meanwhile thank you for links provided.
