TDA4VM: Could I get the latest xSPI driver?

Hi.

expert.

I try to boot with nor flash(cypress S28HS01GTGZBHB030).

SDK7.1 / OS: QNX

I patched OSPI QNX driver so I can read / write well on QNX.

but Ti xSPI driver is wrong. When I read and write to nor flash with Ti xSPI driver, a trash value is written on flash memory first line especially using DMA.

Could you give me the latest xSPI patch set verified on cypress S28HS01GTGZBHB030?

Hi,

The TDA4VM EVM User Guide lists the MT35 / MT25 as the flash parts present on the EVM. The TI provided SDKs has drivers to support these parts.

The list of recommended flash parts for the TDA4VM device are available in application note (+) [FAQ] TDA4VM: Is there a guide to choosing the right OSPI Flash parts that are supported on Jacinto 7? - Processors forum - Processors - TI E2E support forums. There is note on the FAQ indicating that S28 will not work out of the box.

Regarding patch that was applied to QNX driver, did this patch come from TI or Blackberry / QNX?

I get S28 driver from Blackberry for QNX.

Also I get S28 driver for SBL boot from Ti. but the driver from Ti has problem.

Hi,

Regarding, request for a patch for the S28HS01GTGZBHB030, the TDA4VM EVM to my knowledge does not have this part on it.

As TI verifies the SDK on the EVM, a Spansion part would been tested as part of the SDK release, and TI would not have a patch available.

Hi,

Agreed with Kip in terms of validation on the TDA4VM EVM, as the EVM has a Micron flash and not a cypress flash official support can not be added to the SDK.

However, the below FAQ can serve as a reference for adding support for a Cypress Semper flash on TDA4VM.
