TMDS243GPEVM: Unable to connect to UART in Out-of-Box experience

Hi Team,

I purchased 2x TMDS243GPEVM. I'm running into a roadblock in the Out-of-Box experience. For both EVMs, I've followed the step-by-step instructions provided here (https://dev.ti.com/gallery/view/SitaraMCU/AM243x_EVM_OOB_Experience/ver/1.0.0/), but I'm not able to connect to the UART port. It does successfully connect to JTAG, but buffers or "connecting" for the UART as seen in the snips below:

I've checked to make sure I'm configuring the correct serial port per the snips below:

And I've read the UART data via TeraTerm to confirm that it is initializing properly:

Please note that I've tried with both EVMs that I've ordered. In addition, here is my physical setup:

Hi Alex,

From the UART log (Teraterm) snapshot you shared, looks like you are flashing SBL NULL and not SBL QSPI. You need to flash SBL QSPI if you need to run an application like out of box demo.

Hi Prasad Jondhale, the Teraterm was just used to show that the UART can connect.

For the Out-of-Box experience, I set the switches to the following positions as asked in the step-by-step guide:

Do I need to complete steps prior to the Out-of-Box experience guide in order for it to connect?

Hi Alexander,

I tried the following debug steps to fix a similar problem.

1. Reset the board.
2. Refresh the site.
3. Click on Options first and change the COM port to COM5 (FTDI Port)
4. Click on OK and let the program download on the device.

You will find the demo working.

** Make sure to not start any download of program over incorrect COM port or repeat all the steps from the start.
