H.264 Decoder issue on DM6467T for full HD video

HI All,

we are using codecs which we downloaded from TI site (dvsdk_3_10_00_16 version) along with GIT kernel 2.6.32 on DM6467T.

when we are try to decode .264 file of resolution 1920x1080i. and the file been little corrupt using TI's decode application provided

with the dvsdk ,we observe artifacts on OSD.

Actually the artifacts/gliches in output occur when it tries to decode the corrupt part of the file, but the decoder output doesn't recover(shows glitches) even if

the file is good later .

When we play the same file on media player like VLC it plays seamlessly.

could you please let us know what could be the problem, i have attached the input file for verification.

please change the extension to .264

H.264 decoder version is 01.10.04.

Hi Bhushan,

Can you please let me know the build version of the h264 decoder library, which wiil be indicated as "01.10.04.BB" in the codec release notes. I want the value of "BB" as well.

Hi Bhushan,

The h264 stream whatever shared has no IDR frames after the error has got started. Due to this decoder is unable to recover completely and hence the error is keep propagating to the subsequent decoded frames even though concealment is applied. Just a note, if the channel is noisy why can't you generate the IDR frame periodically, which is made for refreshing the decoder in case of error.

The shared stream has also tried using ffmpeg (provided by Patni), however the ffmpeg is able to decode only 111 frames. Please verify the stream captured is proper.

Hi Mahantesh,

The file that was uploaded the last time was a small file (11 MB)so its likely that it doesn't have an I frame later.

I am attaching a slightly larger file (about 15 MB) and you could try using this.

We have a couple of larger files of about 30 MB each, but I seem to have problems uploading them to this site.
Perhaps this site has an upper limit on the size of the file one can upload. But if you give me an ftp address, I can upload these there for you to access.
These would surely have I frames later in the captured broadcast.

Fine, I will try to verify this stream and let you know about the same. If required to analyzing larger stream, I will let you know about FTP location as well.
