processor compatability issue

Hello,

Recently I started my thesis work on AM/DMx37 EVM kit. So I started following TI-Android-Gingerbread-2.3-DevKit-1.0 Developers guide to build android on the development kit.

my questions are

1 ) In the guide, initially mentioned for ubuntu 32 bit machines, so i got confused and because i saw android gingerbread requires 64-bit machines. so this developers guide is for 32 bit or 64 bit machines?

2)AM/DM37x is comes under the category OMAP3?

Processor ------------------------- 64 bit UBUNTU 10.04
TI Android DevKit version -------- TI-Android-Gingerbread-2.3-DevKit-1.0
Platform (EVM or custom board)-----AM/DM37x EVM (mistral)

Hi Ashwin,

1. Yes , gingerebread requires 64-bit machine to build file system. But we have provided patch to make it work on 32-bit machine as well. So developer guide is independent of 32-bit or 64-bit machine

2. AM/DM37x comes under OMAP3x (OMAP3517) categaory.

Hi Ashwin,

1. We have modified android sources to build on 32-bit machine

2. Yes AM/DM37x comes under OMAP3 catagory.

You can build sources with following command.

make TARGET_PRODUCT=omap3evm OMAPES=5.x
