SRIO Documentation (C6474_SRIO.pdf)

The presentation contained in C6474_SRIO.pdf  (http://learningmedia.ti.com/public/c6474/C64x_SRIO/C6474_SRIO.pdf) mentions "RapidIO Boot User’s guide" and "Messaging Source code".

Is there a specific SRIO boot document I should be looking at? So far I've only seen what's in the  "TMS320C645x DSP Serial Rapid I/O User's Guide" (spru976b.pdf).

What is it referring to with the phrase "Messaging Source code"? Is this something different to what's contained within the examples that come with the "RapidI/O Message Queue Transport" (MQT)?

Thanks,

Matt

  • Matt,

There is a bootloader user's guide that has additional details on how to use the internal ROM SRIO bootmodes.  This doc can be found at: http://www.ti.com/litv/pdf/spruec6d.  The MQT is the only messaging example code that I'm aware of.

  • Hi Travis,

Obviously I posted this message some time ago and at some point found spruec6d.pdf but thanks for taking an interest.

For the record we're successfully loading our application code via SRIO where the SRIO host is actually an Altera FPGA. Obviously the bootloader has to initialise the SRIO link so the application doesn't bother with all the SRIO initialisation contained in most of the examples. All the app does is configure the interrupt routing and set MASTER ENABLE.

This has all been working for some time now and we've moved on to application development and stopped worrying about SRIO.

Err, I'm just trying to say that we're now pretty pleased with the SRIO stuff and it all seems to be working well.

    Thanks,

    Matt

  • Great news.  And to be honest, I didn't see the date of your original post.  I was simply going through and trying to answer forum posts that had no responses.  Since the bootloader guide probably did help, I'm going to mark it as a verified answer.
