TDM Highway through backplane

Hi Attila,

I think you are correct that implement a TDM highway using McBSP with LVDS drivers may not work. I think, at a high level, the TDM packet insertion would not work because there is no way to disable the LVDS drivers to float the LVDS lines.

What other recommendation do you have? Can I run the MCBSP signals through the backplane, if no why not? Again it is 20 inches at best and does not go outside to customer interface.  DO you recommend SPI? Max bit-rate is 20Mbps.

Hi Attila,

I would use some SOC w/ the PCI or PCIe to communicate among SOC. You can run the McBSP signals through a backplane but in TDM is almost imposible to insert the channel data on the bus for the enabled channel.
