how to change the clock frequency in 6455

Hi all,

I need to chage the frequency of the c64+ core in  6455 DSK and also its ddr speed needs to be modified. seeing the documents it seems that c64+ core freq can be set at various freqs like 720Mhz,850Mhz and 1 Ghz but i was unable to figure out how to vary its frequency. by changing which parameters in the gel file could i configure the frequency , and how can i configure the ddr speed.can any one please guide me.

    Hi Manoj,

    You can find information about PLL1 and PLL2 inside the datasheet in sections 7.7 and 7.8. In a nutshell the input clock goes through an initial predivider and then a multiplier before going to the CPU (SYSREFCLK) as well as all the other peripherals through the other system clocks. The PLL2 configures the clock for the DDR2 and EMAC modules in much the same way. Take a look at these sections in the datasheet and then program the registers as discussed in the PLL User Guide.
