Hello,

I have a Logic PD AM3517 Starter kit and and working with Code Composer Studio. Can't open Code Composer Studio project file from examples...

I am trying to import or open one of the BSL CCS example project files but CCS does not appear to recognize the .pjt file as a project file.

My version of Code Composer Studio is
5.0.1.201012231000

Build id: N201012231000

It is running on the recommended version of Ubuntu Linux 10.04.

The project file I am trying to either import or open as pre-existing is

test_menu.pjt

If I manually open test_menu.pjt with a text editor is indeed a CCS project file.

Why doesn't Code Composer Studio open this?

I saw there are some CCS support files in the BSL. One of them mentioned copying a .gel file to a cc folder but the only folder in CCS having .gel files is an emulator folder.

Have not done anything else with the support files yet...

The importation of legacy CCS3 based (*.pjt) projects is still a bit shaky in the CCSv5 release, keep in mind that CCSv5 is still a beta product (note that 5.0.1 is an older release, you may want to try a newer release from http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Category:Code_Composer_Studio_v5). To get around this you have a few options:

1. Use CCSv3.3 instead, the examples should work right out of the box.

2. Use CCSv4.2 instead, since the conversion works a bit better in CCSv4. http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Importing_CCSv3_Projects_into_CCSv4

3. Use CCS 4.2 as a shim between CCSv3 and CCSv5, i.e. import into 4.2, than import the 4.2 project into 5.

4. Create a new project in CCSv5 and import the sources and settings manually.
