I'm sorry but this section contains only a bit more than nothing and gives no presentation of how this module operates and particularly of its architecture (despite of the caption of the section). There is a definition of registers of the module in this user guide but it explains not very much. For example, the meaning of RFTCLK_SEL field is given there as device specific but device specific data sheets gives no information on RFTCLK_SEL and of the time synchronization module in general. Maybe some other more mature TI DSP has the same module described in detail?

The IEEE 1588 rtfclk_sel should be shown in the data manuals. As you stated, this information is currently missing, so thank you for brining it to our attention. We are currently working to add this information to the data manuals. I am not sure when the updated data manual will be released, I am providing the information about the RTFCLK_SEL register now so that you can have the details immediately.

To select the desired clock, program RTFCLK_SEL[2:0] in the Time Synchronization submodule in the Ethernet switch. The bit values of this register correspond to the following clocks:

101 reserved

110 reserved

111 reserved
